What started out in 2003 as a three piece acoustic band, Detune has now transformed into a full fledge acoustic and disco band performing at some of the most exclusive resorts in the Maldives. The greatest irony lies in their name. In music terms, Detune means out of tune. Yet, this can hardly be the description for the five member band comprising of Fezu, Ali, Fathith, Asif and Fujeee.

Detune plays the likes of jazz and blues, rock and roll, latin and samba, disco and reggae, classical and local Maldivian music. It is this variety of music, with a pinch of personal touch that creates the appeal. At present, Detune performs at three resorts on a weekly basis - One and Only Reethi Rah Resort, Baros and Taj Exotica.

The past year has been a great success for the band. Detune played in the international arena for the first time in July 2006 performing in various pubs in London and Earlsbury, United Kingdom. To end the year Detune performed live at One and Only Reethi Rah Resort during the peak season of Christmas and New Year.

The year 2007 brings many more opportunities for Detune starting with the ITB fair to be held at Berlin, Germany in March 2007. This exclusive fair gives the band a unique chance to represent Maldivian Music and to showcase their individual creativity to the best in the tourism industry.

Just recently, all five members have enrolled themselves in the Berklee College of Music’s online courses, which will help further their musical aspirations.
